Afternoon everyone!

Tuesday has come around and the weekend is gone. Over the weekend I was in the middle of exchanging Blackberry pins with a friend I bumped in to, and as proud members of the “Blackberry club” we got stuck in to the conversation of how and why we thought our Blackberries were much better than the growing population of the iPhone!

To justify this we came to the conclusion that ours are better, because the iPhone is too big and bulky! Which is silly really when i think about my first ever mobile and how heavy and basic it was. It made me wonder why I spent so much on getting it? It’s scary to think how technology and Gadgets have developed so far in such a short time. Don’t worry I’m not going to sit here comparing the ins and outs of Mega bytes, internal memory, or other specifications because that wouldn’t be me would it? No, we were talking about the way everything now has got so small and stylish it’s hard to remember that less than 9 years ago my Nokia resembled a breeze-block!

Thinking about this further it’s not just phones which have changed from bricks to pocket sized pebbles: radios are now tiny portable devices, TVs have flat screens that are mere centimeters deep, floppy discs have given way to memory cards, personal stereos evolved into MP3 players, and plenty of other examples. This leads me to think: what happens in the next 10 years? Ok so one obvious guess would be solar powered mobiles, but what about how they look? Will phones be so small they work on voice commands because there are no buttons? Radio receivers that are just earpieces? Maybe I’m being silly….. Or am I??? (Cue X-Files type Music)…doooo doo dooo…

:) xx
