Another Friday is upon us here at Gadgets Towers, and we are all looking forward to the weekend ahead. I myself am journeying to a help a friend celebrate (or should that be commiserate?) getting another year older, and in the course of this we shall be cheering on the England Rugby team hoping for a vastly improved showing over what they were trying to pass off as a Rugby Union international last weekend! Hopefully since Rugby has already introduced video refs and other such Gadgets, the result won’t come down to something as contentious as the Football international between France and Ireland did earlier this week! For anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, here is the video of ‘that’ goal.
As a result Ireland have petitioned Fifa to have the game replayed, and Mr. Henry’s Wikipedia page was unfortunately edited, some may say ‘vandalised’ as someone failed to find a constructive way of venting their frustration, although I have to say I’ve never particularly liked him or his ‘va-va-voom’ so it did amuse me. As well as calling the spirit of fair play in the game into question it has also, once again, raised questions of whether video replays or other technology should be introduced, personally I can see the introduction of replay technology going the same way as Irelands request for a replay and Fifa deciding against both.
Whatever your plans are for the weekend ahead, we all hope you have a good one, see you next week!
