A Gadget for the lazy Poker Player

Poker, a serious game, and an ideal activity for the “Lads night in”. We take things fairly seriously a the bi-weekly game that I attend on a regular basis. We have a fold-up table-top, an aluminium case of Poker Chips, and insist on using a new deck of cards for every game. In fact, the only thing we really need for our poker nights is to have an official dealer. Unfortunately for the small stakes we play for paying someone to deal for us for 4 or 5 hours isn’t really a feasible option. Enter the iDealer.
There I was, ambling through cyberspace minding my own business when I stumbled across a blog post concerning the iDealer. A neat gadget that sits on the table and deals out the cards for you it can be programmed to deal various games, catering for you whether your game of choice may be Hold’em, stud, or some other variation. It deals the cards using an infrared sensor and strategically placed bicycle reflectors. In my opinion this beats our trusty Card Shuffler hands down. In a game with strangers it would allay any fears of dealing from the bottom, and in games with friends it will ensure that even later in the evening after a few drinks there is still something around the table with the ability to deal consistently.
