Well, we’ve possibly been waiting around 45 years, ever since the iconic opening scenes from 1965′s Thunderball, but finally someone has developed a marketable personal jetpack! That’s right the folks at Martin Aircraft can produce a Personal Jetpack that, whilst maybe not affordable by everyone, can be flown by anyone, well at least once you have completed the specially developed Martin Aircraft training programme.
After nine prototypes, the price has been (almost) set at around $86,000, which is pitched as the same sort of cost as a high-end car. It will still be a while before we can use these, or something similar for our daily commutes as although Air Traffic Control are developing new systems it is not yet ready to be able to deal with jet packs flying about to Tesco and back!
Here’s a video of the Jetpack in action!
