The first misconception is that lying on nails, or in this case sharp plastic spikes, will hurt. If there were only one or two, this would indeed be uncomfortable, but the Bed Of Nails houses over 6000 'nails' meaning that your weight is distributed over a larger area, and so you should only feel mild discomfort amounting to a tingling sensation. This 'good pain' works in a similar way to acupuncture, helping the body to release endorphins which encourage positive feelings and pain relief as well as giving other benefits with just a 10 minute session on a regular basis.

The Bed Of Nails is made from cotton, and the plastic 'nails' are made from non-toxic plastic meaning it can be easily cleaned, as well as being rolled up and taken with you when you go travelling.
