If the recipient wishes to decipher the coat of arms for their chosen surname, there is a heraldry wall chart enclosed in the gift box which should provide useful information to get them started. This can also be used to help to decipher other coat of arms that the recipient may come across.

What if there isn’t a coat of arms behind the name I choose? As mentioned, the imagery for the coat of arms is obtained from a team of heraldic and genealogical researchers. This team has researched over 200,000 different coat of arms, historically not every name will have a coat of arms but can be found for most worldwide surnames of British descent. If your surname is of British origin and we do not have the correct coat of arms, then our master heralds will create one especially for you.

How long does it take to receive my coat of arms certificate? This depends on how you choose to register your gift. If you register online then you will receive your supporter certificate within 10 working days. If you fill out and return your form by post then it is increased to 28 working days from the date Gift Republic receives your form.

How long do I have to register my gift? Your gift code expires 12 months after the date of purchase so you have 12 months in which to register your gift.
