Glow Brick

Wouldn't it be great to have a light bulb that you didn't need to plug in, or put any batteries into? With the Glow Brick you can have just that. Just charge up the Glowbrick in normal daylight, and when it gets dark it will emit a tranquil and gentle glow from within it's acrylic block.

The Glow Brick works due to a pigment inside the light bulb with photo luminescent (glow in the dark to you and me) properties, and the mysterious optical effect is caused by light diffracting in a tiny space between the light bulb and the resin encasing it.

The Glowbrick works brilliantly to offer some atmospheric mood lighting, or as a safe night light for children with no batteries or electrical parts required. Just like the 'Glow-in-the-dark' toys you had when you were younger such as 'Glo-Friends' the glow brick is ideal to sit on a bedside table, and as it requires no mains power is completely portable making it ideal for late night trips to the loo.
