Telephones are all very high tech these days, particularly our fiddly little mobiles. They're dead useful for texting, getting online and sharing what we're up to, but they're not always so great for actually having a telephone conversation. Miniature Blackberries slip through the fingers, iPhone screens start sticking to the side of your face and the sound quality can sometimes be a bit iffy.

We long for the days where telephones were just a bit more like a telephone. When you could sit awith a handset tucked between your neck and shoulder like Cybil Fawlty saying "Ooh I know!" without fear of it slipping loose and being dashed into a hundred pieces on the floor. When you could pick up the receiver with authority and answer in an Adam West voice before declaring "I'm on my way!" and slamming it down again.

Therefore we think these retro phone handsets are a brilliant little idea. Just plug one into the headphone jack of your phone. When someone calls, press the little button in the middle and you'll instantly be transported back to the 20th century when you could talk comfortably and play with the springy cord at the same time. Brilliant.
