One thing it seems we all love here in the UK is the weather- rain, sun, heat, cold, snow (and lack of it) are all popular topics of conversation at the water cooler and on the bus. We certainly aren’t short of it – in many places we can have all 4 seasons in one day and with climate change certain, who knows what we might experience!
The SM1600 tracks many channels of data. Indoor temperature and humidity data is used to calculate a comfort factor, which is displayed on several icons. Air pressure is displayed both on a numeric display and on a trend graph, so you can read the icons and have a go at predicting what tomorrow’s weather is going to be.
It is great fun to be able to track temperature, humidity and air pressure, but the SM1600 goes one step further, its wireless remote sensor allows you to track the temperature up to 40 metres away. You might place it just outside the back door so you can tell just how freezing cold or swelteringly hot it is out there, or perhaps pop it in your greenhouse, so you know when to put the heater on or open a few windows.
It has a built in calendar and super-accurate alarm clock. The day, date, and time are all set automatically, synchronising with a precise atomic clock signal transmitted over the radio waves. For all you Werewolves out there, the SM1600 even calculates the phases of the moon!
