Tottenham Hotspur is a club steeped in long and great tradition. They were the first (and indeed only) non-league club to win the FA Cup in 1901. Spurs were also the first English team to win a European trophy by claiming the Cup Winners Cup in 1963. In fact Tottenham have a great tradition of cup football having won a staggering 8 FA Cup titles up until 1991, losing only one final. Although this total has now been surpassed by both Manchester United and Arsenal, in 1991 they had each won only 7 and 4 respectively.
